| Bio: | I was born much later than my tastes in; Music, Art, Literature, Architecture and Fashion demonstrate. My life started in Vancouver, British Columbia. My family moved to Seattle, Washington and started their own business in the Ski industry back in the 60's. I grew up listening to 50's, 60's and 70's Jazz Rock and Soul through my parents and siblings. My sister introduced me to Reggae and Soul-Jazz which influenced my career as a musician and DJ to this day. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a film maker and I made short films on my super 8 camera. I also wanted to become a musician and travel the world which has actually happened. I have played with Ivan Kral from Patti Smith, John Cale & Iggy Pop fame, members of Sound Garden and Tad which were bands in the same Seattle music scene as Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone and Pearl Jam whose members I also knew growing up here. I also played in a 10 member Ska band during the 3rd wave back in the early 90's. We opened for Desmond Dekker and The Skatalites! During the 80's and 90's, you would often see me wearing a sharkskin suit and sipping coffee at an outdoor cafe next to my Vespa scooter emulating my heroes; The Kinks, Paul Weller and the Who. What a life! Here you will find me reviewing music, fashion and showing off my collection of Mod things, most of which I will end up letting go of in my eBay store "Beat Generation Collectibles" for simply lack of space! |
